Advice from your Florist
Not sure where to begin with your wedding flowers?
We’ve combined our years of experience into a compiled list of tips that we wish all brides knew. We hope it helps!
Come to your consultation prepared:
Things you can do to prepare for your first consultation with your floral designer are:
Fill out your Wedding Worksheet.
Have an idea of where you’d like flowers at your wedding
Know dimensions of things like archways, tables (for garlands) etc.
Know your color scheme. Tip: let your designer know if you are willing to stretch your color scheme a bit.
Don’t bring the whole family. While we love some extra opinions, sometimes too many can end up steering things away from what YOUR vision is. We want you to have exactly what YOU want on your special day so we suggest only bringing 1 or 2 trusted people along for your consultation.
Come prepared with inspiration photos so we can see your vision and so we can have something to look back on when we are putting your flowers together months later.
Budget accordingly:
Obviously, we think flowers are one of the most important details of your wedding day.
Have a good idea of how much you can spend on your flowers and let your florist know where you are comfortable with and what is most important to you if you do need to cut some things out to stay within budget.
Know that wedding flowers cost more than most people think. Save a good amount if you see a lot of flowers/ more premium flowers at your wedding.
Make sure to review your Wedding Contract and know your payment dates. We allow all of our couples to make payments if needed.
Rent what you can:
Renting the things you need large quantities of/ decor you’ll never ever use again saves you SO much money, time, and energy. Not only do we make sure everything we rent out is set up accordingly, we also come back and pick it up after your event. Its also way cheaper than buying everything yourself and no need to worry about storing boxes of wedding decorations you’ll end up selling for pennies on the dollar just to get it out of your house later. Yup you know what I’m talking about. The girls on Facebook market place selling 50 vases for $5… don’t be one of those girls…. We got you!
